Gegharkuni (Sevan trout)
2 sub-species of trout is bred; i.e. Gegharkunik and summer trout.
The maternal population is bred in the trout farm. Then it is moved to the Gandzak farm, where the water temperature is favorable for receiving fish eggs and incubation.
Then in the phase of "eyed eggs" the fish egg is returned to the trout farm, incubated, seedling is received and bred up to 400-600 gr, then to sale. The egg lying cycle of Gegharkunik lasts from the end of November up to the beginning of January.
The egg lying cycle of the summer trout lasts from the end of March up to the middle of May.
The production cycle lasts 16-20 months.
